Samuel Ikepfan represents the most populous country in Africa, although he also holds a French citizenship card. He said he hoped it would serve as a model for new Nigerian ice hockey players. He added that his Olympic ambitions are to reach the pinnacle of the Milano Cortin in 2026. 

At the 2026 Milano Cortina, I was appointed captain of a team of three young athletes from Nigeria. but they live in other countries. My job is to explain things to them and help them on their way to the Olympics, ”he said. In January 2021, Ikpefan made his debut for the first time at the World Cup in Falun, Sweden. 

Nigeria made a name for itself in the Pyeonchang Games in 2018, when its athletes qualified to compete in ice hockey and heavy metal.
