Indian Women Protest against The Barred of Hijab In Schools.

Hundreds of Indian students continue to take to the streets of the country carrying placards denouncing the government, after several schools barred students from wearing hijabs on the orders of the Ministry of Education.

The move led to the closure of schools for three days due to the violent protests by parents and students. Muskan Khan, one of the protesting students, said, "Every religion is free. India is a united country. So every religion is free. They follow their culture and I follow my culture. They should let us follow our culture and not cause any trouble. "

Prominent figures who have shown their support for the students include Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate who asked Indian leaders in a tweet: "Stop it. Muslim students marginalized The Karnataka state government, with a Muslim population of only 12 percent, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have said students must adhere to the rules of dress and conduct set by schools.

Opposition parties have accused the BJP government at the federal and state levels of discriminating against Muslims. But Prime Minister Modi defended the move saying that his economic and social policies benefit all Indians.
